Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Craig David (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John MacMillen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). David comes to the cage accompanied by Craig David - Rise and Fall. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 20 - 21 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Craig David!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, John MacMillen!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
MacMillen misses with a low kick as David jumps back.
David shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
letting MacMillen counter with a right hand.


It looks like Craig David has been cut.
MacMillen pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces David back to the cage. MacMillen follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
David fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
David tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but MacMillen swivels and escapes.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Craig David. That's going to take a lot out of him.
MacMillen misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from David.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

David shoots in for a double leg but MacMillen sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
MacMillen misses the shot to the body.
MacMillen throws an off balance right hand

and David decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in MacMillen's guard.

We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
MacMillen can't keep his opponent in guard - David advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
David is just content to waste time from the top position. MacMillen takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
David wants to control from the top but MacMillen keeps moving.

MacMillen is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
David throwing strikes from guard but MacMillen blocks nicely.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as David accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

David throws an elbow that misses. MacMillen uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in David's guard. Nice move by MacMillen!

David has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by John MacMillen.
MacMillen lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
David avoids the body shot from MacMillen.
MacMillen is on the wrong end of a nice combination from David.
This has been an exciting period of action!
MacMillen stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and MacMillen wants it to stay on the feet.
MacMillen rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but David moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
David throws a series of punches but MacMillen moves out of range.
A decent looking cross lands there for MacMillen.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
MacMillen connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
John MacMillen is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
MacMillen misses with a jab, cross combination.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but John MacMillen will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Craig David's cut.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.



David shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
David wants to stand but MacMillen has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.
MacMillen throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
David throwing shots but MacMillen is blocking nicely.
The fighters are battling for position here. MacMillen manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
David might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

MacMillen has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but David can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
MacMillen wants to control but David passes easily into half guard.

Craig David overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

MacMillen tries to roll over but David keeps him under control.
MacMillen is trying to defend against the ground and pound but David scores with a couple of nice shots.
David tries to stand but his hand is stuck under MacMillen.

MacMillen utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

MacMillen wants to sweep but no luck.
David postures up and lands a big shot to MacMillen's brow.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
David advances to half guard.
MacMillen blocking the ground and pound attempt from David.
MacMillen is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
David is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
David winds up and cracks MacMillen with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
David is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

David is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! MacMillen is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! MacMillen has escaped and now he's on top!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
MacMillen is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
MacMillen wants to control from the top but David keeps moving.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
MacMillen pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. David is keeping the position for now.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

David shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in MacMillen's guard.

MacMillen looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

MacMillen working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. David doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. David manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

MacMillen bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in David's guard.
MacMillen engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.

David looking to hit a scissor sweep but MacMillen is one step ahead there.

David looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
David not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
MacMillen must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
MacMillen throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing David to regain full guard.

Craig David showed his dominance in that final round.
I think David has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
