The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jab by Kramer.
Kramer looks for a takedown but Heggs sprawls well.
Kramer doesn't manage to clinch there - Heggs circles away.
Kramer will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Heggs closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Kramer tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Heggs just stands there and leans against the cage.

Kramer tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Heggs just stands there and leans against the cage.

Heggs's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Kramer takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.

Heggs darts in and clinches Kramer up against the cage.
Heggs tries to circle away but Kramer has him pinned against the cage.

Kramer fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Heggs avoids it really well and circles away.

Heggs throws a right and a left that Kramer avoids nicely.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Kramer tries to land knees in the clinch but Heggs avoids the damage to the body.
Heggs misses with a punch on the inside.
Heggs can't find room to land a body shot as Kramer controls the action.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Kramer looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Heggs is fending him off so far but Kramer persists. Nope, Heggs circles away and we're back to standing.

Heggs throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.

Heggs breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Kramer changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Heggs tries to avoid it but Kramer manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Heggs to the ground. Heggs escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Heggs throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Kramer shoots for a takedown but Heggs saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Heggs gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

Heggs tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Heggs misses with a hook to the ribs.
Heggs lands a hook that snaps the head of Kramer backwards.
Kramer jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Heggs walks away with a smile on his face. Kramer gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
John Kramer seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kramer takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.


That has opened up John Kramer's cut even more.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Heggs stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Heggs wants it to stay on the feet.

Heggs cracks Kramer with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Kramer looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Heggs finish him?


Kramer is rocked!
Heggs lands a nice shot to the body.

Heggs has Kramer up against the cage in a clinch.

Heggs breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Heggs drops Kramer with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Kramer looks back up at him and smiles so Heggs waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Kramer is still on wobbly legs! Can Heggs finish him?


The cut above John Kramer's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Heggs jabs at Kramer's body.
Heggs scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Kramer seems to have recovered his senses.

Heggs closes the distance and clinches.
Kramer tries to pull guard but Heggs holds him up against the cage and eventually Kramer drops back down to his feet.
Heggs wants to break free but Kramer has control.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Heggs.
Heggs on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Kramer tries to pull guard but Heggs holds him up against the cage and eventually Kramer drops back down to his feet.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Kramer blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Heggs is stalling here.
Heggs lands a left hand that snaps the head of Kramer backwards.

Heggs escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Heggs sizes up Kramer with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.


John Kramer's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
Kramer misses with a looping left.

Heggs has managed to clinch.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

The referee calls the doctor in to look at John Kramer's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

After winning the bout, Luther Heggs thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
