Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mike Snowe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Griando Kelly (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Griando Kelly!
The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Steve Erwin and Bruno Hogan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Snowe shoots in for a double leg but Kelly sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Kelly missing with a left hand there. Snowe was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.

Snowe slips a jab and a cross from Kelly.

Nice sprawl there from Kelly as Snowe shoots in.
Griando Kelly seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Snowe counters with a three punch combo that has Kelly backing up. Kelly nods at Snowe to acknowledge the strikes.

Snowe closes the distance and clinches.

Snowe breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Snowe drives through and clinches with Kelly against the cage.

Snowe shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Snowe showed some decent athleticism there.

Snowe passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Kelly!

Snowe lands a big shot there that rocks Kelly but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Snowe misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Snowe throws some wild stikes that Kelly manages to avoid easily.
Snowe controlling the pace for now.
Snowe has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Snowe's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Kelly takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.

This has been an exciting period of action!

Snowe is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Kelly knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Snowe decides to stand up, so the ref orders Kelly to his feet.

Kelly really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Snowe. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Snowe decides to stand and escape the position.

Snowe gets a clinch.
Kelly is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.

Snowe breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

and Snowe counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

Snowe jumps guard but Kelly stands there with Snowe around his waist. Snowe gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Snowe goes for a takedown in the clinch but Kelly prevents it.
Snowe has Kelly pressed against the cage.

Snowe pulls guard effortlessly.
Kelly won't allow Snowe to sweep him here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Snowe is controlling Kelly's posture.
Mike Snowe overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Snowe looking to hit a scissor sweep but Kelly is one step ahead there.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Snowe is on top in guard.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Snowe controls from within his opponent's guard.
Snowe missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

Snowe stands up and waves to Kelly to follow him.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Snowe feints and as Kelly raises his hands in defense, Snowe changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mike Snowe dominated that second round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!


Kelly falls off balance throwing a combination

and Snowe counters by clinching up.
Kelly has had enough of the clinch but Snowe keeps him there for the moment.
Snowe tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Kelly smiles and moves away.
Kelly throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Snowe counters with an inside leg kick.
Kelly stalks Snowe and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Snowe's face. Snowe staggers backwards, shaken.

and Snowe counters with a leg kick then a big left hand that sends Kelly down! Snowe is looking to finish but Kelly is intelligently defending himself.


Kelly is rocked!
Snowe controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Kelly is still in real trouble! Can Snowe finish him?
Snowe seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Kelly for as long as he can get away with.
Kelly seems to have recovered his senses.
Kelly takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Snowe gets to his feet. Kelly looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Snowe is looking to clinch but Kelly is avoiding it.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Kelly is looking to break free of the clinch but Snowe has double underhooks.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Snowe is working for takedown but Kelly is calmly controlling the position for now.
Kelly can't break the clinch.

Snowe breaks from the clinch.

Snowe rushes Kelly and presses him up against the cage.

Snowe breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Snowe drives through and clinches with Kelly against the cage.
Snowe lands an elbow inside.


It looks like Griando Kelly has been cut.

Kelly throws a left and a right that both miss

and Snowe counters with a shoot takedown. Kelly fights it but they end up in guard.
Snowe stays in close to Kelly's body and controls the position.
Snowe trying to control the position from guard on top but Kelly is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Snowe advances to half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Snowe performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
Snowe passes to full mount!
Snowe unloads with some shots from mount but Kelly bucks and avoids them well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Snowe trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Snowe tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Griando Kelly has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

And that's the end of the fight!
Mike Snowe showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Snowe has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
