PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Aaron Moore (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Thomas Mackey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Thomas Mackey told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, Columbo Gatti and Jonathan Paton.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mackey misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Moore.
Moore takes a swing at Mackey's ribcage but misses.
Moore loads up on a big right hand but Mackey slips the punch.
Some wild striking there from Moore.
Mackey looks to land a combination but Moore avoids it well.
Mackey slips under a jab.
Moore jabs Mackey right on the nose. Mackey blinks but takes it well.
Moore falls off balance throwing a combination

so Mackey counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Mackey stands and throws Moore's legs to the side, diving into side control.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Moore throws a jab but it's blocked by Mackey.
Moore throws a body punch but Mackey moves out of range.

and Mackey counters with a nice double leg into side control. Moore won't be happy with that.

Mackey tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Mackey has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Mackey is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Moore is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

A choreographed right hand from Moore misses the target.
Mackey throws a hook but Moore blocks it.
Mackey shoots for a takedown but Moore saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Mackey tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Moore swivels and escapes.
Nice defenses there by Mackey.

Moore throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

No joy there for Moore, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Moore pushes Mackey off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
Mackey ducks straight into an uppercut from Moore and tumbles to the canvas! It’s a flash knockdown though - Mackey maanges to regain guard straight away.

Moore decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Mackey is still on wobbly legs! Can Moore finish him?
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Moore moves in close and cracks Mackey with a massive right hand! Mackey, frozen momentarily in time, tumbles to the canvas, already out cold! A brutal knockout by Moore!
