Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 24 - 13 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Shawn Spencer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Dave Dameshek!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Paulo Santos and Edson Gomes.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Spencer throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Spencer darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Spencer throws out a loose jab but Dameshek uses good head movement to avoid it.
Spencer lunges at Dameshek with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Dameshek's hand.
A big right from Spencer misses.

Dameshek darts in and clinches Spencer up against the cage.
Spencer has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Dameshek avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Spencer breaks the clinch.
Dameshek takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Spencer misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Dameshek.
Spencer throws a jab but it's blocked by Dameshek.

and Dameshek counters with a nice double leg into side control. Spencer won't be happy with that.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Spencer wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Spencer is looking to regain half guard here but Dameshek keeps moving and retains side control.

A lull in the action here as Dameshek stalls from top position.
Spencer tries to bench press Dameshek off him but Dameshek keeps the position.

Dameshek wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Spencer, who protects the arm well.

Dameshek wants to control but Spencer is keeping him busy.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Spencer is looking for a sweep.
Dameshek wants to control but Spencer is keeping him busy.
You can see the frustration on Spencer's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Spencer tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Dameshek wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
An elbow from Dameshek crashes against the mat.
Spencer tries to improve position but can't.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Spencer is not content to let Dameshek control the position.

Spencer gets back to half guard.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Spencer is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Dameshek pulls his head out easily.
Dameshek with the ground and pound but Spencer uses the opportunity to regain guard.
Spencer keeping full guard, as Dameshek tries to pass.

Spencer escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Dameshek gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Dameshek passes Spencer's left leg - he's now in half guard.

Spencer tries to roll over but Dameshek keeps him under control.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Spencer wants to stand but Dameshek is controlling the position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Spencer keeping moving, preventing Dameshek from controlling successfully.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Dave Dameshek will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Spencer throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Dameshek.

Dameshek throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Spencer was covering up waiting for the punch and Dameshek finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Dameshek content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Spencer has locked up a guillotine! Spencer's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Dameshek is holding on here and Spencer must be using up a lot of energy. Dameshek has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Spencer gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:33 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Shawn Spencer!
After winning the bout, Shawn Spencer thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
