Giacomucci comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Bee Gees - Stayin' Alive kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hardy plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!

It looks like Giuseppe Giacomucci has been cut.
Hardy jabs Giacomucci right on the nose. Giacomucci blinks but takes it well.
Hardy throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
A head kick from Hardy lands but Giacomucci takes it in his stride.
Hardy keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Hardy moves in looking to clinch but Giacomucci pushes him off.

Giacomucci shoots for a takedown but Hardy saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Giacomucci does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

A solid leg kick lands there for Hardy.
Giacomucci is trying desperately to land a takedown but Hardy is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Giacomucci.

Giacomucci tries to score with a low kick but Hardy moves his leg out of the way.
Hardy bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Hardy lands with a good body shot.
Hardy tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Giacomucci paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Hardy lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Hardy gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Giacomucci.
Giacomucci changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Hardy fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Giacomucci on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Hardy. Hardy obviously looking to wear him down.

Hardy cracks Giacomucci with an open hand slap.
Giacomucci walks into a stiff left hand from Hardy.
Giacomucci will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Hardy is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.
Hardy thuds his shin into the meat of Giacomucci's side.
Giuseppe Giacomucci seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Nice body punch from Hardy.
Hardy clobbers Giacomucci with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.

Hardy moves into range and clinches up with Giacomucci.
Hardy lands a right hand that snaps the head of Giacomucci backwards.
Hardy is working Giacomucci over against the cage.

Hardy pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Giacomucci finds himself stumbling back on wobbly legs after being clipped by a right hand. He's up against the cage, ducking and weaving under Hardy's strikes but an uppercut finds it's way through and Giacomucci falls! - He's completely out of it and the ref jumps in to save him!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Dan Hardy!
A relieved looking Dan Hardy thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
