Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Huey Freeman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dave Doom (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Freeman comes to the cage accompanied by Judo Flip. Huey Freeman has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

With a record of 7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Dave Doom!
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Summer Carpenter and Skip Squint.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Freeman throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Doom's waist but Doom gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Freeman off to one side.
Doom attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
Huey Freeman seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Doom counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Doom throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.

Freeman shoots in for a takedown but Doom shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Freeman. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.

A nice leg kick lands there from Doom.
Freeman throws a jab but it's blocked by Doom.
Dave Doom is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Freeman chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Doom can pounce on him.

Freeman manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Doom on his heels. He'll look to pass Doom's guard now, I'm sure.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Freeman wants to pass the guard but Doom is keeping the position.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Doom pulls Freeman in close to his closed guard and prevents Freeman from doing any damage or advancing position.
Let's hope that Doom has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Dave Doom has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.

Freeman decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Freeman is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Doom defends well.
Doom must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
