Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Robert Boyd (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Alater (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighter's entrance songs getting the crowd jumping here.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Robert Boyd!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jack Alater!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Gwen Towbar and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Alater has managed to clinch.
Boyd looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Boyd with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
Alater stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.
Boyd is pressed up against the cage. Alater has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Boyd down to the mat. Boyd avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Alater dives in and scores a takedown into Boyd's guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Alater would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Alater stands and steps away. Boyd gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Alater fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Boyd sprawls well initially but Alater persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Alater thows a huge punch but Boyd dodges it nicely.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Alater decides to return to a standing position.

Alater looking to score a takedown here. Boyd is defending well but Alater drives through and ends up in Boyd's guard.
Alater wants to get up but he can't break Boyd's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Alater is stalling in the full guard.
Alater works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Alater keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Jack Alater was stalling too much, according to the referee.

Alater changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Boyd looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Alater connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Boyd some visible discomfort.

Alater content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.

Alater decides to stand up, so the ref orders Boyd to his feet.
Boyd walks into a jab.
Alater fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Boyd avoids it really well and circles away.

Alater is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Boyd's half guard.

Alater looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Alater lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Alater.

Alater moves into range and clinches up with Boyd.

Alater lands with a shot to the body.
Robert Boyd is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Alater throws a head kick but Boyd moves out of range.
Sloppy strikes from Alater. Those never looked like landing.
Alater closes the distance and clinches up with Boyd, looking for a takedown. Alater pushes Boyd against the cage but Boyd circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Alater drives through with a takedown into Boyd's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Jack Alater hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Boyd avoids a punch combination nicely.
Alater scores with a hook to the body. Boyd takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.

Alater shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Boyd manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Hammerfist, elbow! yells Alater's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Alater wants to pass the guard but Boyd is keeping the position.
Alater wanted to stand there but Boyd had control of the position.
Alater pushing down on Boyd's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Alater perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

Alater stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Boyd to get to his feet.
Alater will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Boyd keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jack Alater showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!



Boyd gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Alater passes into half guard.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Alater in particular looking to stall.
Alater looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Alater tries to pass to full mount but Boyd defends it.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Jack Alater has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Boyd misses with a looping left.
Alater swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Alater sizes up Boyd with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Alater changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Boyd tries to avoid it but Alater manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Boyd to the ground. Boyd escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Alater throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Boyd's waist but Boyd gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Alater off to one side.

Alater has taken the fight to the clinch.
Boyd is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Alater is defending well for now.
Boyd doesn't land with the attempted body shot.

Alater has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Boyd regains guard immediately.

Well Alater has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
