Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Andrew Havener (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Connor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Andrew Havener!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, John Connor!
The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Aafke Stam and Nard Betker.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Connor darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Connor is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Connor thows a huge punch but Havener dodges it nicely.
Connor lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Connor not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Havener has hold of Connor's hands but Connor slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Connor seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Havener does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Connor decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.

Connor drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Havener is breathing heavily.
Connor tries to free his leg and advance position but Havener is retaining full guard.
Connor postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Connor has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Connor is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Connor stands and steps away. Havener gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Havener looks to score with a jab to the body but Connor is just out of range.

Havener gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Connor makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

Connor wants to control from the top but Havener keeps moving.
Connor is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

John Connor has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Connor looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Connor looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Havener is fending him off so far but Connor persists. Nope, Havener circles away and we're back to standing.

Havener tries to close the distance and clinch up but Connor swats him away and circles back towards the center.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Connor shoots in for a double leg but Havener sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Havener throws a leg kick but Connor moved away.
Connor looks to land a right hand but Havener moved out of range.

Connor throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Havener was covering up waiting for the punch and Connor finishes the takedown easily into guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up. John Connor was stalling too much, according to the referee.

Connor fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Havener manages to avoid it.
Connor shoots in for a takedown but Havener shows good takedown defense.

Connor clinches up with Havener and pushes him back against the cage.

Havener jumps guard and drags Connor to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Connor sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Havener's guard.

Havener is not content to let Connor control the position.

Havener looks like he's trying to stand up.
John Connor has got the better of the ground game so far.
Connor is nestled in close to Havener, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. John Connor wasn't active enough on the ground.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Havener enables Connor to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Havener manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Connor stands up over Havener, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

John Connor showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

John Connor comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Connor has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
