Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Brian Schroeder!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Arbi Minasian!
The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Aafke Stam and Albert Achterberg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Minasian closes this distance looking for a takedown but Schroeder circles away.
Nice takedown defense from Schroeder. No joy for Minasian on that attempt.
Minasian takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Schroeder lands a right hook to the body.
Schroeder throws a series of punches but Minasian avoids them all with ease.
Schroeder stuffs the takedown attempt from Minasian. Minasian gets slowly back to his feet.
Brian Schroeder has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Arbi Minasian.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Schroeder drops Minasian with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Minasian looks back up at him and smiles so Schroeder waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Schroeder is looking to stand back up but Minasian counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Schroeder.

Minasian thows a huge punch but Schroeder dodges it nicely.

Minasian seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

The fighters circling - Minasian throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

Minasian drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Minasian stands up over Schroeder, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Minasian must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Schroeder is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Minasian is controlling him.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Minasian accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Schroeder wants to get back to his feet but Minasian is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Schroeder takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Schroeder lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Schroeder throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Schroeder looks to land a combination. Minasian sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.

Minasian is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Schroeder reverses the position - he's now on top in Minasian's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Arbi Minasian hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Minasian throws a big shot that misses.
Minasian shoots in but Schroeder avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Schroeder connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Minasian momentarily.
The crowd cheers as Minasian lands an impressive looking overhand right. Schroeder doesn't seem phased though.

Minasian misses with a takedown attempt - Schroeder sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Nice defenses there by Schroeder.
Minasian uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Schroeder.
Schroeder fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Minasian looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Schroeder feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Minasians jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Nice shot lands for Schroeder.
Schroeder wobbles Minasian with a right hand and the left hook that follows puts him on his rear! Schroeder dives in with a huge flying punch that connects right on the button and puts Minasian to sleep! - What a violent and spectacular finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:39 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Brian Schroeder!
