Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Steven Stepp (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alucard Darkim (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Stepp comes to the ring accompanied by Wherever I May Roam . The crowd seem to be enjoying Darkim's choice of entrance music: I'm new in da city. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Alucard Darkim!
The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Saam Ante and Albert Achterberg.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stepp fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Darkim looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Stepp throws an overhand right that lands on Darkim's shoulder, as Darkim tries to avoid the shot.
Stepp throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Steven Stepp seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Stepp darts in trying to clinch
and Darkim cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Stepp forces Darkim back against the ropes and clinches.
Darkim tries to throw a body punch but Stepp avoids it by throwing Darkim back against the ropes.

Darkim has hold of one of Stepp's legs. Stepp is fighting the takedown attempt but Darkim gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Stepp bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Darkim's guard.

Darkim is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Darkim escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Stepp gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Stepp keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Darkim's head.

Stepp connects with a couple of short punches.
Darkim keeping moving, preventing Stepp from controlling successfully.
Stepp is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Darkim is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Darkim lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Stepp!

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Darkim avoids the attempt from Stepp to control.

Darkim wants to finish this one by submission but Stepp is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Darkim.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Stepp tries to lock up and control but Darkim gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Stepp slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.

Stepp wants to control but Darkim is keeping busy.
Darkim wants to free his trapped foot but Stepp is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Stepp is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Stepp is trying to stand up here but Darkim is controlling him well.
The fighters are battling for position here. Stepp manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Darkim just misses with a punch to the body.

Stepp gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Stepp takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Darkim lands with a thumping leg kick.
Stepp shoots for a double leg takedown but Darkim sprawls well. He's pushed Stepp's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

and Darkim counters with a nice uppercut.
Darkim works Stepp's body with a nice hook.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Stepp misses with a straight left.
Darkim ducks under a wild hook from Stepp.
Stepp slips a jab and a cross from Darkim.
Darkim looks to throw the jab but Stepp is out of range.
Darkim moves out of range as Stepp strikes.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Darkim lands a really nice looking cross but Stepp seems unphased.
Darkim throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Stepp counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Stepp shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Darkim drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Steven Stepp will probably get the nod.
That's time! Stepp's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Stepp throws the left hand but Darkim avoids the punch easily.
Darkim is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Stepp.
Darkim leaves Stepp with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Alucard Darkim is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Stepp darts in trying to clinch
and Darkim connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Darkim avoids a punch combination nicely.
Nice cross by Stepp.
Darkim scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Darkim misses with a few strikes there.
Stepp throws a looping overhand right but Darkim ducks down to avoid it.
Darkim lands a slapping body shot.
Stepp misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Darkim.
Stepp throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Stepp is looking to clinch.
Darkim feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Stepps jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

and Darkim counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Stepp's guard now.

Stepp is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Darkim gets full guard.
Darkim is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Darkim trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!
