PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Anthony Dinozzo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and New Knox (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dinozzo kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Dinozzo the Womanizer. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Anthony Dinozzo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, New Knox!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Knox clinches up with Dinozzo and pushes him back against the ropes.
Knox with an attempt at a knee that misses.
Knox gets underhooks to prevent Dinozzo's takedown attempt.
Knox scores a nice knee to the body.
Knox misses with a short punch on the inside.

Horrible takedown by Dinozzo or perhaps it was just good defense by Knox which made him look bad.

The fighters circling - Knox throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

Dinozzo fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Knox checks it well.
Knox pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Knox closes the distance but Dinozzo moves to the side
and Dinozzo counters with a stiff right hand.
Knox tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Dinozzo shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Knox's guard.

Dinozzo in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Knox looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

New Knox seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Dinozzo tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Knox smiles and moves away.

Knox rushes Dinozzo and presses him up against the ropes.
Dinozzo has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Knox avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Dinozzo is working for takedown but Knox is calmly controlling the position for now.

Knox goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Dinozzo is looking to take this one to the mat.

Knox escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Knox lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Knox shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Dinozzo eats them both and turns towards Knox to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

Knox fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Dinozzo, pushing him back against the ropes.

Dinozzo jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Knox walks away with a smile on his face. Dinozzo gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Knox throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
The fight stays on the outside here - Knox looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Dinozzo has Knox pressed up against the ropes. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Dinozzo pulls back from the ropes and twists to the side, sending Knox tumbling to the mat - Dinozzo dives into Knox's guard.

Dinozzo takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

Dinozzo has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Knox is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Dinozzo yanks on the arm and Knox is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Dinozzo.
