Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kerry Paul!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, B Ron Trilliss!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Paul slaps away a takedown attempt from Trilliss, before circling back to the center of the mat.
B Ron Trilliss seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Trilliss is trying hard to land a takedown here. Paul sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Paul looks to land a right hand but Trilliss moved out of range.
Trilliss shoots for a takedown but Paul saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Kerry Paul has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of B Ron Trilliss.
Trilliss tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Paul paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Paul throws a front kick that sends Trilliss stumbling back into the cage.
Paul connects with a crisp jab.
Trilliss is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Paul defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Trilliss.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Paul takes the fight into the clinch.
Trilliss tries to score a body lock takedown but Paul shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Trilliss is looking to take this one to the mat.
Paul stops a takedown attempt from Trilliss.
Trilliss tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Paul smiles and moves away.
Paul misses with a two punch combination.

Paul shoots in looking for a takedown but Trilliss manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Paul's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Paul swings for the body but Trilliss moves out of range.
Paul pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Paul shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Trilliss eats them both and turns towards Paul to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Trilliss shoots in for a takedown but Paul shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Trilliss looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
No joy there for Paul, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Trilliss tries to score a power double leg takedown but Paul sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Trilliss somewhat.
Paul throws a right hand that Trilliss ducks under and follows up with a left that Trilliss also avoids with ease.
Trilliss dodges the punch combination from Paul.

Trilliss drives through with a takedown into guard.
Trilliss throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Paul works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Trilliss trying to control but Paul is working from the bottom.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Trilliss prevents Paul from getting back to his feet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Trilliss pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Paul is keeping the position for now.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Trilliss accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Trilliss throws a big elbow that misses.
Trilliss lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Trilliss has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Trilliss trying to control the position from guard on top but Paul is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Trilliss postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Trilliss postures up in Paul's guard and throws a big left but Paul blocks it.
Paul might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Trilliss missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

Trilliss decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Paul's corner calls for a 1-2. Paul obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Paul throws out a powerful jab.
Paul misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Trilliss looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Paul is fending him off so far but Trilliss persists. Nope, Paul circles away and we're back to standing.
Paul looks for the body kick but Trilliss saw that one coming.
Trilliss shoots for a double leg takedown but Paul sprawls well. He's pushed Trilliss's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
Trilliss drives through with a takedown into guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Trilliss postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Kerry Paul will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Nice takedown defense from Paul. No joy for Trilliss on that attempt.

Paul is not content to let Trilliss control the position.
Paul knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Trilliss on the ground.
Paul is working to avoid the ground and pound but Trilliss connects with a decent elbow.

The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
Paul takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Trilliss throws an elbow but Paul slips to the side and avoids it well.

Trilliss tries to score with some ground and pound. Paul controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

B Ron Trilliss has got the better of the ground game so far.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

B Ron Trilliss showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Trilliss working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Paul doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Paul manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Paul is sitting in close to Trilliss's body. Trilliss has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Paul is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Paul is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Trilliss.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:42 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). B Ron Trilliss!
A very excited looking B Ron Trilliss rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
