The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Reynolds shoots for a double leg takedown but Shouse sprawls well. He's pushed Reynolds 's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Shouse throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Reynolds 's head.

Reynolds wants to clinch but Shouse slips to the side

and Shouse counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Shouse is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Shouse has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Shouse sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Reynolds 's guard.

Shouse goes for an armbar but Reynolds turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Reynolds .
