The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
カイル fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.

Rua closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. カイル quickly recovers to half guard.
カイル is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
カイル avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Rua.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Rua has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

カイル is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Rua jumps into side control!
