PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Deshawn Prince (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Onkel Joakim (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Onkel Joakim!
The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Shirou Masuda.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A head kick from Joakim lands but Prince takes it in his stride.

It looks like Deshawn Prince has been cut.
Prince shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Joakim sprawls well. Joakim wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Prince gets slowly back to his feet.
Joakim slaps away a takedown attempt from Prince, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Onkel Joakim seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Prince shoots in looking for a takedown. Joakim tries to sprawl out of it but Prince keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Joakim manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Deshawn Prince. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Prince moves in looking to clinch but Joakim pushes him off.
A punch combination from Joakim misses.
Prince on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Joakim connects with a high kick.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Prince has managed to clinch.
Prince tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Joakim smiles and moves away.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Joakim, right into the meat.

Joakim lands a head kick!
This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Prince. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.
Joakim feints and then cracks Prince's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Prince down.

Joakim misses with the combination.
A head kick from Joakim lands but Prince takes it in his stride.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
A solid body kick from Joakim.
Prince is breathing heavily.
A shot to the liver by Joakim. Beautiful body shot.
Joakim throws a head kick but Prince moves out of range.
Joakim throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Prince's head.

Deshawn Prince's cut is getting worse.
Joakim feints with a jab and clips Prince right behind the ear with a massive overhand right! Prince is sent crashing into the canvas and Joakim leaps in for the kill! Prince tries to get to his feet but Joakim is just battering him from every conceivable angle. The ref decides that Prince is in need of a savior and steps in!
