PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Kustaa Pohjanala (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dan Morgan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pohjanala comes to the cage accompanied by AC/DC - Hard as a Rock. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Morgan fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Morgan decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Morgan makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Morgan.
Pohjanala postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Pohjanala stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Morgan swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Morgan manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Pohjanala manages to get himself to full guard.

Morgan goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Pohjanala has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Morgan but great work by Pohjanala.
Pohjanala is looking to take a break and control but Morgan is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Pohjanala tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Pohjanala has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Morgan is looking for a kimura but Pohjanala is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Morgan to get the leverage.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Pohjanala swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Morgan fails with a takedown attempt from distance.

Morgan shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Pohjanala's guard.

Morgan is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Pohjanala defends it well.
