Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jeff Hardy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Abbot (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jeff Hardy has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jeff Hardy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mike Abbot!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Yves DeLean and Dillan Fox.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hardy shoots in but Abbot avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Hardy drives through with a takedown into Abbot's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Abbot wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Hardy manages to pass to side control.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Hardy prevents Abbot from standing back up.

Hardy scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!


It looks like Mike Abbot has been cut.

and Hardy counters with a nice double leg into side control. Abbot won't be happy with that.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Abbot lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Hardy circles away quickly and effectively.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Hardy enables Abbot to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Hardy manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Hardy knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Abbot on the ground.

Hardy is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Abbot is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Hardy on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Hardy tries to get out of the position.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Abbot is pressed up against the ropes. Hardy has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Abbot down to the mat. Abbot avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Hardy wants to break free but Abbot has control.
Abbot gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.
Abbot creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The cut man is working on Mike Abbot's cut.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!


Hardy shoots in for a takedown but Abbot shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Jeff Hardy overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Hardy goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Abbot has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Hardy but great work by Abbot.

Abbot has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Hardy is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Abbot yanks on the arm and Hardy is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Abbot.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:20 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Mike Abbot!
Mike Abbot opened up his post fight interview with a scream to camera that he wants a title shot! Whether he deserves the shot will be up to the management of the organization, so I guess he'll have to wait and see.
