PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kidace Lee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Allan McGraw (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lee has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. Allan McGraw told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McGraw shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Lee as he jumps to the side.
Kidace Lee seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Lee has a takedown stuffed.
McGraw pulls out of a head kick attempt.
McGraw shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Lee defends it nicely.
McGraw throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
McGraw throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Lee's waist but Lee gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing McGraw off to one side.
Kidace Lee has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Allan McGraw.

McGraw digs a right hand underneath Lee's ribcage. Lee let out a lung full of air as it connected.
McGraw tries to pull guard but Lee forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Lee connects with a nasty looking knee right to McGraw's face.
Lee tries to land knees in the clinch but McGraw avoids the damage to the body.
McGraw manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.

McGraw pulls guard effortlessly.
McGraw is pulling down on Lee's head. It's preventing any offense from Lee, at least for the moment.

McGraw has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Lee can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

McGraw manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Lee manages to get himself to full guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Kidace Lee.
Lee scores with a head kick. McGraw tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
McGraw motions for Lee to come forward. McGraw throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
McGraw shoots for a double leg takedown but Lee sprawls well. He's pushed McGraw's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Lee tries to keep at a distance but McGraw has taken the fight into the clinch.

McGraw is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Lee is refusing to be controlled, as McGraw sits in half guard.
McGraw is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

McGraw is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

McGraw fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Lee, pushing him back against the cage.
McGraw has Lee pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Lee manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
McGraw works on Lee's body with a couple of short punches.
Lee has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. McGraw is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

McGraw pulls Lee into guard.

McGraw is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Lee defends well.

McGraw is taking a breather. Lee says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

McGraw's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

McGraw manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Kidace Lee has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

McGraw decides to pull guard.
Lee looking to sit in guard and control but McGraw gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
McGraw slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Well McGraw has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
