Destro 's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Cobra. Davis has chosen Monkey Junction as his entrance music. Donny Davis will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Dillan Fox and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Destro throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Destro takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Davis paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
A head kick misses from Davis.
Davis just misses with a punch to the body.
Davis fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Davis swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Davis jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Davis scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Sloppy strikes from Davis. Those never looked like landing.
Davis cracks Destro with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Davis moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Davis lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.

Davis throws a right hand that Destro ducks under and follows up with a left that Destro also avoids with ease.
Destro is looking to clinch.
Destro looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Davis connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Davis misses with a double jab
and Destro counters with a stiff right hand.
Davis throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Davis throws a body punch but Destro moves out of range.
Destro bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Donny Davis is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Davis scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Davis is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.
Davis misses with a series of wild punches.
Davis scores with a body shot.
Donny Davis seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Destro fails in his attempt to clinch.
Destro shoots in looking for a takedown. Davis tries to sprawl out of it but Destro keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Davis manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Davis lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Destro backs up against the cage.
Davis has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.

Destro moves into the clinch.
Destro misses with an elbow strike.
Davis is trying to break the clinch but Destro has him pressed against the cage.

Davis breaks from the clinch.
Davis connects with a nice looking jab.

Davis checks a leg kick.
Destro takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Davis misses with a two punch combination.
Davis throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Davis scores with a nice right hand.

Destro changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Davis looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Destro tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Destro has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Destro is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Davis is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Davis tries to bench press Destro off him but Destro keeps the position.
Destro prevents Davis from escaping the position.
Davis struggling a bit here.

Destro is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Davis looks calm but he's in trouble here. Destro gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Davis is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Destro lets go of the hold and Davis can pop his arm back in it's socket.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). James McCullen Destro !
In his post fight interview, James McCullen Destro started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
