Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Fedor Coutinho (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ty Angle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ty Angle has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Fedor Coutinho!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ty Angle!
The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Dean Styles and Bruno Lombardi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Coutinho lands a high kick!
Coutinho fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Coutinho keeps the fight on the outside.

Angle bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Coutinho is breathing heavily.

Angle wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Coutinho, who protects the arm well.
Angle cracks Coutinho with an elbow. That is naaassty.
Angle tries to score with some ground and pound. Coutinho controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

Angle thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Angle advances to mount.

Angle stands up from mount. Strange move.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Angle lands a jab to Coutinho's midsection.
Angle wants to clinch up but Coutinho keeps it at a distance.

Coutinho takes the fight into the clinch.
Coutinho stops a takedown attempt from Angle.
Coutinho really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Coutinho looking to throw knees to the head but Angle is blocking nicely.
Coutinho blocks the elbow strike.
Coutinho jumps guard but Angle stands there with Coutinho around his waist. Coutinho gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Coutinho drops down looking for an ankle pick but Angle pulls his leg out and moves away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Fedor Coutinho. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Angle closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Coutinho looking for submissions off his back.
Angle wants to lay and pray for a moment but Coutinho keeps working.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Coutinho won't allow Angle to pass to mount.
Angle passes to side control.

Angle wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Coutinho, who protects the arm well.
Angle tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.

Coutinho gets back to half guard.
Angle is tying to control. Coutinho wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Angle might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Coutinho kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Coutinho is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Angle is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Angle is trying to control the action in half guard but Coutinho is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Angle uses his free foot to push down on Coutinho's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Coutinho.

Angle goes for an armbar but Coutinho turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Coutinho.
Angle wants to sweep but no luck.
Coutinho tries to stand but Angle is controlling from the bottom.

Angle has his foot on Coutinho's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Coutinho works his way back into a safe position though.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ty Angle dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Angle tries to clinch but fails miserably

and Coutinho counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Angle's guard now.

Angle looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Coutinho trying to control but Angle is working from the bottom.

Angle looking for a guillotine here but Coutinho defends easily.

Angle is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Coutinho slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Angle manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Angle is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Angle stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.
Angle scores with a shot to the body.
Angle closes the distance but Coutinho moves to the side

and Coutinho holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Angle lands a left hand that snaps the head of Coutinho backwards.

Angle breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Coutinho misses with a takedown

and Angle counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.

Angle is working for a kimura but Coutinho is defending it quite comfortably.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage!

Angle looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Coutinho kicks off Angle and gets to his feet.
Angle wants to clinch

and Coutinho counters by clinching up.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Angle escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Angle throws an overhand right that lands on Coutinho's shoulder, as Coutinho tries to avoid the shot.
Angle closes the distance but Coutinho moves to the side

and Coutinho counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Angle pushes Coutinho off looking to stand but Coutinho dives back in and keeps control.
Angle tries to kick Coutinho off in order to stand up. Coutinho Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.
Angle sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Coutinho thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Angle is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Coutinho is pressing down on Angle's thigh, looking to free his foot. Angle is holding on for now.
Coutinho will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Coutinho is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.

Coutinho stands up out of the half guard.
Coutinho misses with a takedown attempt

and Angle counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Coutinho gets full guard.
Angle wants to control from the top but Coutinho keeps moving.
Angle controlling from the top position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Ty Angle will probably get the nod - 10:9.

Angle slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Angle thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
Angle is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Coutinho is posturing up here but Angle has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Coutinho tries to roll out but it's too tight and Coutinho has to tap! Slick submission there by Angle!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:01 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Ty Angle!
