PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kevin Khasm (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Feodore Sabre (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Khasm comes to the cage accompanied by Kickstart My Heart. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 17 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kevin Khasm!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 24 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Feodore Sabre!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Jack Bonds and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Khasm.
Khasm shoots in but no luck this time.

Khasm shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Sabre napping and manages to drive through into side control!
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Khasm tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
Sabre is trying to improve his position.
Khasm creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Sabre sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
You can see the frustration on Sabre's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Khasm creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
Sabre avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Khasm.

Khasm thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Sabre taking punishment in the form of punches.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Sabre is not in a great position here, taking some shots.
You can see the frustration on Sabre's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
The ground and pound from Khasm seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.

Sabre tries to bench press Khasm off him but Khasm keeps the position.
Khasm working the ground and pound but Sabre is defending the strikes.
Khasm has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Khasm is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Sabre knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Khasm creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
Khasm working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.
Sabre tries to bench press Khasm off him but Khasm keeps the position.
Khasm lands a nice forearm strike.
Sabre keeps Khasm under control for a moment.
Sabre parries the strikes from Khasm easily there. Khasm is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Sabre to escape.
Sabre sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Khasm thows a huge punch but Sabre dodges it nicely.

Sabre looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Khasm looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Sabre with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Sabre tries to roll over but Khasm keeps him under control.
Sabre works his way to full guard. Good work.
Sabre is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Sabre bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Khasm's guard.
Khasm is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Khasm is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Sabre is aware though and is defending well.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Khasm looking for a guillotine here but Sabre defends easily.
Sabre must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Sabre working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Khasm is looking for a triangle but Sabre pushes his legs off easily.
Sabre is working Khasm over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Khasm keeping moving, preventing Sabre from controlling successfully.
Khasm with a couple of shots from the bottom there - nothing Sabre can't handle though.

Khasm had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Sabre defends it easily.

Khasm working for a triangle but Sabre defends it easily.
Sabre landing with the ground and pound.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Sabre is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Khasm is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Khasm working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Sabre doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Sabre manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Sabre cracks Khasm with a solid left hand.
Sabre is looking to work some ground and pound but Khasm has wrist control.
Sabre loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Khasm has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Sabre should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Khasm has tightened it up now! Sabre should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
