Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Angel BloodWing (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Robert Groove (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Angel BloodWing had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Groove dives in and scores a takedown into BloodWing's guard.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Groove wants to stand but BloodWing is controlling his posture from full guard.
BloodWing has his hands on Groove's head, controlling the position.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now BloodWing is on top in guard.
Groove trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!
BloodWing advances to half guard.
BloodWing throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Groove tries to kick BloodWing off but BloodWing keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

BloodWing seems to be looking for submissions.
Groove blocking the ground and pound attempt from BloodWing.

Groove wants to control but BloodWing is keeping busy and won't allow it.
BloodWing working over Groove with some ground and pound. Groove looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
BloodWing wants to free his trapped foot but Groove is holding on for dear life with his legs.

BloodWing has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Groove lands one or two decent shots to the body here. Although from his own half guard, he's not going to be causing too much damage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
BloodWing is looking to pass Groove's guard but actually Groove recovers to full guard.

Groove uses the cage to get back to his feet.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Groove throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. BloodWing tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Groove is in BloodWing's guard.
Groove must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

BloodWing pushes Groove off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

Groove manages to get an easy takedown there - catching BloodWing on his heels. He'll look to pass BloodWing's guard now, I'm sure.

BloodWing throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
BloodWing bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Groove's guard.
Groove is adopting a defensive guard.
BloodWing is looking to advance position but Groove has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!

BloodWing is staying active underneath Groove, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Well, if Groove is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Groove has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.

It looks like Robert Groove has been cut.

Groove shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Groove was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
BloodWing can't escape the position.
BloodWing wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back.

Groove has the hooks in. BloodWing is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.

Robert Groove showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Groove closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Groove is working for a submission of some sort.

BloodWing is trying to maintain the position but Groove is very close to passing his half guard.

Groove is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. BloodWing doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Groove.

Groove looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Groove has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing BloodWing to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Groove is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - BloodWing pulls down on the head and he's put Groove to sleep! This one is all over!
