Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jason Frank (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Apolo Creed (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jason Frank!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Apolo Creed!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Jack Bonds and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Frank misses with a straight right.
Frank has a takedown stuffed.

Frank gets caught flat footed, as Creed shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Frank has a closed guard, preventing Creed from standing up.
Creed postures up in Frank's guard and throws a big left but Frank blocks it.
Creed controlling from the top position.
Creed won't allow Frank to get back to his feet.
Creed loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Creed stops Frank from standing up.
Creed is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Frank wants to stand and escape but Creed is having none of it.

That's one minute gone in the round.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Apolo Creed.
Frank fails with a takedown attempt.
Creed circles away from the clinch attempt.
Frank throws a body kick that misses
and Creed counters with a nice uppercut.


It looks like Jason Frank has been cut.
Creed swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Frank counters by clinching up.

Creed gets control of Frank's arms and successfully pulls guard. Creed will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Frank is working hard here to advance position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Frank drops back, looking for a kneebar! Creed looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Creed looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Creed!
Creed throws an elbow but Frank slips to the side and avoids it well.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Frank throws Creed to one side and escapes!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Frank closes the distance and clinches.

Creed jumps into guard, dragging Frank to the mat.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Creed working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Frank doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Frank manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Frank pushing down on Creed's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Frank wants to pass the guard but Creed is defending well.
Frank wants to take a breather but Creed is having none of it.
Frank not landing any meaningful shots this time.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Creed is refusing to be controlled, as Frank sits in half guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

We're going to have a standup here because Jason Frank wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

Creed clinches up with Frank and pushes him back against the cage.

Creed tightens his grip and picks Frank up, before dumping him to the ground. Frank manages to land in guard.
Frank is looking to stand up but Creed isn't so interested in that idea.
Creed wants to control from the top but Frank keeps moving.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Frank utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Creed throws a big elbow that misses.
Frank lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Creed!
Creed tries to buck Frank off but he can't manage it.
Creed is looking to improve his position but Frank isn't that keen on the idea.
This has been an exciting period of action!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Frank cracks Creed with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Poor strikes thrown by Frank there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Apolo Creed will probably get the nod.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!



Frank gets tackled into the cage by Creed. Creed maintains the clinch.
Frank is trying to pull guard but Creed has him pressed against the cage.
Frank tries to pull guard but Creed forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Frank jumps guard but Creed stands there with Frank around his waist. Frank gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jason Frank. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Creed gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Creed wants to stand up but Frank is controlling the position.
Frank is trying to maintain the position but Creed is very close to passing his half guard.
Creed with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.

We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Frank is trying to stand back up but Creed is controlling him
Creed tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Frank.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Apolo Creed wasn't active enough on the ground.
Frank tries to close the distance and clinch up but Creed swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Creed should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Creed shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Creed was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Frank wants to hold on but Creed pushes him away.
Frank is trying to stand but he's just given Creed his back.
Frank is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Frank covering up well under a barage of strikes.
Will Creed go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?
Frank has the hand control, trying to stop the rear naked choke.
Frank looking very determined here, making life difficult for Creed.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Creed might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Frank kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Creed has his opponent's back and is working for the choke.
Apolo Creed has got the better of the ground game so far.
Creed trying to control momentarily.
Frank's corner are yelling at him, telling him to just focus on controlling Creed's hands.
Creed just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.

Frank wants to get back to his feet.
Frank wants to escape the position.
Frank is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet.
I really don't envy Frank right now.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Creed working for the choke.
Creed wants to control but Frank is keeping busy.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Apolo Creed showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!


Frank swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

Frank clinches with his opponent.

Creed breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
No luck for Frank with that takedown attempt.

Creed gets tackled into the cage by Frank. Frank maintains the clinch.

Creed has Frank up against the cage in a clinch.
Frank tries to break the clinch but Creed is controlling the position.
Creed connects with a nasty looking knee right to Frank's face.

Creed works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
Creed wants to pass the guard but Frank is keeping the position.
Creed is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Creed must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Frank keeping moving, preventing Creed from controlling successfully.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Creed controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Apolo Creed hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Creed swats away the attempt to clinch by Frank.
Frank tries to close the distance and clinch but Creed swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Frank shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Creed pinned against the cage. Creed gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Frank fails with an attempt to clinch.

Creed scores with a kick to the body.

and Creed counters with a nice body shot.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Creed displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.

Creed changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Frank looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Creed is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Creed has knee on belly and moves into mount.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Creed looking to finish with strikes here!
Frank is trying desperately to improve position.
Frank tries to buck Creed off but he can't manage it.
Frank slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
Creed is controlling the pace.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Creed is keen to just control but Frank is a slippery customer.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Apolo Creed hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Creed closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Frank quickly recovers to half guard.
Creed prevents Frank from standing back up.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Creed is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Frank sees it coming and defends easily.
Frank pushes Creed off looking to stand but Creed dives back in and keeps control.

And that's the end of the fight!
Apolo Creed comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Creed has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
