Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Scott Hirsh (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alistair Overeem (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Overeem has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Alistair Overeem!
The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Tarja Halkonen and Roosa Järviläinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Overeem scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Hirsh fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Hirsh shoots in but no luck this time.
Hirsh slips under a jab from Overeem.
Hirsh closes this distance looking for a takedown but Overeem circles away.
Overeem pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Hirsh back to the cage. Overeem follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Hirsh doesn't manage to clinch there - Overeem circles away.
Hirsh walks into a stiff left hand from Overeem.
Hirsh dives in and grabs Overeem's left leg, looking for a takedown. Overeem pushes down on Hirsh's head and hops out.

Oh Hirsh is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Hirsh. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.

Alistair Overeem seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hirsh takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

Hirsh takes one to the side of the head.
Hirsh changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Overeem tries to avoid it but Hirsh manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Overeem to the ground. Overeem escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Nice straight punches there by Overeem. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Overeem.
Overeem cracks Hirsh with a right hand to the side of the head.
Overeem connects with a nice looking jab.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Hirsh is looking to clinch but Overeem is avoiding it.
Overeem connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Overeem cracks Hirsh with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Overeem goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Overeem might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

This entire fight has taken place on the feet so far and you wonder whether Hirsh might be better served trying to take this one to the ground because he's losing the standup battle so far.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Overeem throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Overeem lands a nice shot that snaps Hirsh's head back.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Alistair Overeem showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Overeem can do anything to dispel that myth.
Hirsh is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Overeem is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
