The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ferguson blocks a head kick by Hardin.
Hardin moves in looking to clinch but Ferguson pushes him off.
Ferguson stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Ferguson wants it to stay on the feet.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Hardin tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Ferguson paws at him with a jab and circles away.
The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Ferguson. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.

Ferguson fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Hardin to the ground. Ferguson is now in Hardin's guard.

Hardin seems a little lost for a moment, as Ferguson dominates the positioning.
Let's hope that Ferguson has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Ferguson cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Ferguson lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
Hardin is bucking up trying to escape but Ferguson cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Ferguson takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Ferguson is landing with some decent strikes but Hardin is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
