Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ben Stone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joe Garelli (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Stone's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, SMALL AXE. Garelli has chosen Patriarch on a Vespa as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 19 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ben Stone!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 31 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Joe Garelli!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Timothy Bukovac and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Garelli misses with a straight right.
Garelli has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Stone.
Garelli stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

Garelli gets the takedown into side control.

Garelli is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Stone has escaped the position, nice work there.
Stone tries to bench press Garelli off him but Garelli keeps the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Stone tries to buck Garelli off but Garelli is having none of it.
Garelli tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.

Garelli tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Garelli has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Garelli fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Stone avoids it really well and circles away.
Garelli is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Stone.

and Stone counters with a nice kick to the body.

Stone tries to sprawl but Garelli drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Stone trying to hold on to Garelli's head to control him but Garelli postures up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Garelli is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Garelli is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Stone keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Garelli wants to pass the guard but Stone is defending well.

Joe Garelli has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.

Garelli closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Stone to the mat! Stone manages to get full guard.

That's time! Stone's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Stone lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Stone slips under a jab from Garelli.
Garelli throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Stone's waist but Stone gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Garelli off to one side.
Joe Garelli seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Stone lands the left hand.
Garelli misses the jab.
Stone swings and misses with a hook to the body.

and Stone counters with a straight right hand.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Stone works over Garelli's head and body with a nice combination.
Garelli drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.


Garelli is rocked!
Garelli gets tagged by a hook that puts him to sleep! Stone points and yells something to his unconcious foe before strutting off. Garelli wakes up just in time to hear Stone thank his coaches in the post fight interview.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:57 of round 4, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Ben Stone!
