Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Brian Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Simon Phoenix (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jones comes to the cage accompanied by Before I Forget by Slipknot. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Jones lands a jab to the head.
Phoenix tests Jones's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Phoenix connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Phoenix steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Jones.
Phoenix throws an off balance right hand
and Phoenix takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Phoenix avoids a punch combination nicely.
Jones scores with a jab to the body.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Phoenix slips under a jab from Jones.
Phoenix feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Jones sprawling to the canvas! Jones rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Phoenix finish him?!
Jones lands with a shot to the body.
Phoenix throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Jones throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Jones misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Phoenix.

Jones ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

Phoenix tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Jones paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Jones scores with a hook.
Jones paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Jones loads up on a big right hand but Phoenix slips the punch.
Phoenix jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Phoenix misses with a double jab
and Jones connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Jones misses with a looping right.
Jones lands a nice shot that snaps Phoenix's head back.

Phoenix displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Jones throws out the jab.
Phoenix throws a push kick but Jones slaps the foot to one side.
Jones chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Phoenix can pounce on him.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

and Phoenix counters with a body kick that stops Jones in his tracks momentarily.

Phoenix takes a swing at Jones's ribcage but misses.

Jones leaves his chin hanging out and Phoenix seizes the opportunity with an uppercut! Jones crumbles to the floor in a heap! The referee steps in and tends to the downed fighter! What a knockout!
