The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Groves tries to clinch but Jorjinho moves away
and Jorjinho counters with a good low kick that Groves was not able to check.
Jorjinho works over Groves's head and body with a nice combination.

It looks like Randy Groves has been cut.
Groves closes the distance but Jorjinho moves to the side

A kick lands to the mid section there for Jorjinho.
Randy Groves seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Groves rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Jorjinho moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Groves has developed a nice purple lump on his ribcage, as a result of some heavy body kicks from Jorjinho.
Groves stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Jorjinho.

and Jorjinho counters with a head kick. That will keep Groves thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!

That has opened up Randy Groves's cut even more.
Groves shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Jorjinho sprawls well. Jorjinho wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Groves gets slowly back to his feet.

and Jorjinho counters with a low kick, right behind Groves 's knee.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Ohhhhh! A huge head kick from Jorjinho! Groves is out on his feet! Jorjinho rushes in and throws more strikes. The ref is looking closely - Groves is covering up but the punishment is just too much and the ref steps in to stop the fight! Groves is staring into space, just thankful that the beatdown has ended. Brutal finish.
