Datsik kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Mortal Combat. Man, I cannot wait for this one!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Volkovv closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Datsik quickly recovers to half guard.
Datsik wants to control but Volkovv is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Datsik is looking for a sweep. Volkovv is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Volkovv passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Datsik!
Volkovv lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
Datsik tries to lock up and control but Volkovv gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Datsik is looking to improve his position but Volkovv isn't that keen on the idea.

Datsik defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Volkovv.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Volkovv breaks from Datsik's wrist control and lands an elbow.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Datsik is in all sorts of trouble here.

Datsik has left one of his arms exposed and Volkovv doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. Datsik screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.
