Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jason Miller (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jason Steele (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Miller comes to the cage accompanied by Lava Lava. Jason Miller has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jason Miller!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jason Steele!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Timothy Bukovac and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Miller looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Miller.
Steele stuffs the takedown attempt from Miller. Miller gets slowly back to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jason Miller. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Miller throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Steele's waist but Steele gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Miller off to one side.
Steele changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Miller tries to avoid it but Steele manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Miller to the ground. Miller escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Nice takedown defense from Miller. No joy for Steele on that attempt.

Steele feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Steele works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Miller is trying to get back to full guard.
Miller gets full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Miller wants to sweep but no luck.
Steele trying to control the position from guard on top but Miller is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Miller had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Steele is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Miller Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Steele's back instead.
Miller is breathing heavily.
Steele wants to escape the position but for the time being he's just trying to control the pace.
Steele has the hand control, trying to stop the rear naked choke.
Steele rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
Steele pushes Miller off looking to stand but Miller dives back in and keeps control.

Miller looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Steele is pressing down on Miller's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Steele has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Miller off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

Miller scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.

Steele is defending against the submission attempts here by Miller.
Miller looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Steele wants to control but Miller is keeping busy.
Steele is staying active underneath Miller, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Miller slips a nice elbow through Steele's hands, connecting with Steele's forehead.

Steele actively working from the bottom here.
Steele has a hand on Miller's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Miller takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!

Miller is working for a guillotine from mount but Steele frees his head quite easily.

Miller looking to secure an arm triangle but Steele defends it well.
Steele tries to lock up and control but Miller gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Steele working to try and regain half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Miller can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Steele is looking to escape.
Steele slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Miller trying to control the action but Steele is working from the bottom.

Steele looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Miller scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Steele misses with some strikes from the bottom.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jason Miller dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!



Steele closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Steele lands in his opponent's guard.
Steele must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Steele postures up and lands a big shot to Miller's brow.
Steele stays in close to Miller's body and controls the position.
Miller keeping moving, preventing Steele from controlling successfully.
Steele lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.

Steele drops back looking for a leg! Miller is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Miller manages to kick Steele off! Steele jumps back into Miller's guard.
Steele pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Miller is keeping the position for now.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Steele is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Steele trying to control but Miller is working from the bottom.

Steele stands up from Miller's guard - Steele perhaps looking for a knockout.
Steele fails with the takedown

and Miller counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Steele's guard now.

Steele looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Miller is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Miller works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Steele is refusing to be controlled, as Miller sits in half guard.
Miller passes to side control.

Miller working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Steele sneaks back into half guard.
Steele is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Miller's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Miller's back!

Miller is trying to defend against the choke here but Steele has an arm under his chin. This one might not last much longer. Steele Tightens the hold and Miller taps out furiously! Steele displays superior BJJ to win the fight.
