Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Jesse Thielke (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Valor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jesse Thielke!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, John Valor!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, William Peck and Yves DeLean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thielke is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Thielke fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Thielke misses with a left hand

and Valor counters with a takedown into side control.
Thielke is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Valor wants to stand up but Thielke has a hold of him and won't allow it.
Thielke is controlling Valor's trapped leg to prevent Valor from advancing to side control.
Thielke tries to roll over but Valor keeps him under control.
Thielke is looking to control Valor's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Thielke avoid being mounted?
Valor has decided to stand back up but his arm is trapped. Whilst he's worrying about his arm, Thielke works to full guard.
Valor wants to get up but he can't break Thielke's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Thielke seems keen to control Valor's posture.

Thielke bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Valor's guard.
Thielke wants to control from the top but Valor keeps moving.

We're going to have a standup here because Jesse Thielke wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Thielke lands with a shot to the body.

Thielke moves into the clinch.
Thielke can't find room to land a body shot as Valor controls the action.
Valor blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Thielke tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Valor gets underhooks to prevent Thielke's takedown attempt.
Thielke misses with a punch on the inside.
Thielke lands a left hand that snaps the head of Valor backwards.

Thielke is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Valor is defending well.
Thielke is trying to drag Valor to the mat but Valor just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jesse Thielke. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Thielke tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Valor blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Thielke avoids a wild elbow strike from Valor.
Thielke wants to break free but Valor has control.
Thielke fails to land with a short punch on the inside.

Thielke lands a takedown into guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Valor looking for a sweep. Not yet Valor, not yet.

Thielke wants to control from the top but Valor keeps moving.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Valor is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Thielke is looking to work some ground and pound but Valor has wrist control.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Valor has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Thielke has passed into side control.
Sloppy strikes there by Thielke.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Thielke creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Valor sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Valor takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
An elbow from Thielke crashes against the mat.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jesse Thielke dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Valor dives in and grabs Thielke's left leg, looking for a takedown. Thielke pushes down on Valor's head and hops out.
Valor fails with a takedown attempt.
Thielke looks to land a body kick but Valor moved away.
Thielke throws a series of punches but Valor moves out of range.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Valor.
Jesse Thielke has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of John Valor.

Thielke shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Valor is refusing to be controlled, as Thielke sits in half guard.

Thielke takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Thielke landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Valor is not content to let Thielke control the position.
Thielke looks to score some points with some ground and pound.

Thielke throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Valor to regain full guard.
Thielke advances position into side control!
Thielke lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
Thielke lands a few punches from side control.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Thielke scoring with punches and elbows.
Valor really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Thielke. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Thielke tries to score with some ground and pound. Valor controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

Thielke looks up at the clock and then as Valor takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Thielke smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Valor is breathing heavily.
Thielke creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jesse Thielke dominated that second round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!



Thielke fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Valor to the ground. Thielke is now in Valor's guard.
Thielke is looking to work some ground and pound but Valor has wrist control.
Thielke has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Thielke distracts Valor with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Thielke is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Valor can do to turn this around?

Thielke is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Valor is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Valor has escaped and now he's on top!

Valor wants to stand up, so he's looking to wriggle free of Thielke's closed guard. He's half up but Thielke has locked on to an arm! Uh oh! Thielke pivots and extends the arm, Valor falls face first to the mat and taps??... does he?? YES! He's tapping! Excellent counter grappling there by Thielke! Well done that man!
