The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dakka wants to clinch.
Dakka tries to close the distance and clinch but Aspenia swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Aspenia fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Nice takedown defense from Dakka. No joy for Aspenia on that attempt.
Dakka keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kato Aspenia. That's going to take a lot out of him.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Dakka wanted to stand there but Aspenia had control of the position.

Aspenia looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Dakka is fending him off so far but Aspenia persists. Nope, Dakka circles away and we're back to standing.

Dakka lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.

Aspenia is breathing heavily.
Dakka throws a combination. Aspenia tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
