Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
11 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Igor Zanta!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
8 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Dele Obasi!
The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Winston Howard and Bruno Hogan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zanta will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Obasi tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Zanta counters with a nice double leg into guard.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Obasi preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Zanta throws an elbow that misses. Obasi uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Zanta's guard. Nice move by Obasi!
Zanta will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Zanta manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Obasi manages to get himself to full guard.
Obasi is looking to stand up but Zanta isn't so interested in that idea.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Obasi not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Zanta pushing down on Obasi's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Zanta has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Obasi has hold of Zanta's hands but Zanta slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Zanta is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Obasi defends it well.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Zanta throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Zanta connects with a nice short shot to Obasi's temple.
Zanta slips a nice elbow through Obasi's hands, connecting with Obasi's forehead.
Zanta seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Obasi is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
