The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rodriguez fails in his attempt to clinch.

Rodriguez tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Da Hammer paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Rodriguez tries to score a power double leg takedown but Da Hammer sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Rodriguez somewhat.

Da Hammer tries to work over Rodriguez's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.

Rodriguez stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Da Hammer swivels though and keeps the full guard.
