The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Tix drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Tix stands up and we're back to a striking position.

Whitmore fails with the takedown
and Tix counters with a three punch combo that has Whitmore backing up. Whitmore nods at Tix to acknowledge the strikes.

Whitmore is rocked!
Tix shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Whitmore is looking to clinch but Tix is avoiding it.

Tix rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Whitmore moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Whitmore wants to lay and pray for a moment but Tix keeps working.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Tix is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

Whitmore is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Whitmore throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Tix's waist but Tix gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Whitmore off to one side.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Tix scores with a crisp jab that stopped Whitmore in his tracks.

Tix feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Tix breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
No joy there for Tix, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Whitmore shoots in but no luck this time.
Tix feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Whitmore sprawling to the canvas! Whitmore rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Tix finish him?!

Tix fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Whitmore seems to have recovered his senses.
Tix lands a left and a right that sends Whitmore crashing to the canvas! Tix dives into mount looking to finish!

Whitmore's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Whitmore tries to kick Tix off in order to stand up. Tix Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

Tix misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Tix throws a series of punches but Whitmore moves out of range.
Tix tries to clinch but Whitmore is having none of it.
Whitmore dodges the punch combination from Tix.
Whitmore tries for a takedown but Tix sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Tix drives through and clinches with Whitmore against the cage.

Whitmore ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Whitmore no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Whitmore manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Tix manages to get himself to full guard.

Whitmore postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Tix is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Whitmore, into his guard.

Whitmore bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Tix's guard.

Whitmore stands and steps away. Tix gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Clay Tix seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Tix, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
