The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rogan shoots in for a double leg but King sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

King scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Rogan is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

King is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Rogan is looking for a sweep. King is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

King is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Rogan is just riding it out for now. King eventually gives up the hold.

Rogan bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in King's guard.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Rogan shoots and misses
and King counters with a three punch combo that has Rogan backing up. Rogan nods at King to acknowledge the strikes.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Rogan.

Rogan keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

King is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
King is trying to stick to Rogan's back but Rogan is turning into King. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in King's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Rogan.

King has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Rogan can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Rogan gets to his feet. King looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

and King counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by King.
GK King has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Joe Rogan.

King is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

GK King overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
King stands and throws Rogan's legs to the side, diving into side control.

King is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Rogan is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

King has hold of Rogan's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Rogan tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - King cranks the arm and Rogan screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Rogan, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
