Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Alex Rivera!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Timothy Bukovac and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rivera misses with a takedown attempt

and Rizal counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Rivera's guard now.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Rivera closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Rivera lands in his opponent's guard.
Rizal throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.

Rivera has gone for a leg lock! Rizal slips out almost immediately though and dives into Rivera's guard.

Rivera had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Rizal defends it easily.

Rivera is looking for a triangle but Rizal pushes his legs off easily.
Rizal has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

This has been an exciting period of action!

Rizal tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Rizal is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Rivera can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Rizal has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Rivera's face.
Rivera is still in real trouble! Can Rizal finish him?
Rizal lands a big elbow - Rivera is in trouble! More strikes from the mount and Rivera is forced to tap out!
