Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Boozan Rios!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Anthony Perez!
The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Josh West and Micheangelo Fripello.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rios defending well as Perez loads up on a big left hand.
Rios fails with the takedown.
Rios takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Rios takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Rios misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Anthony Perez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Rios takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Perez connects with a nice looking jab.
Rios takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Perez lands with an overhand left.
Perez lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Perez.


Rios is rocked!
Perez throws a right hand that Rios ducks under and follows up with a left that Rios also avoids with ease.
Rios shoots in looking for a takedown. Perez tries to sprawl out of it but Rios keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Perez manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Boozan Rios. That's going to take a lot out of him.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Perez creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Rios is working for takedown but Perez is calmly controlling the position for now.
Rios fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Perez digs a right hand underneath Rios's ribcage. Rios let out a lung full of air as it connected.
Rios is breathing heavily.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Oh Rios is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Perez creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Rios gets tackled into the cage by Perez. Perez maintains the clinch.
Rios is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Perez is defending well.

Perez lands on the inside with an uppercut.
Perez presses Rios against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.
Rios seems to have got his legs back now.
Perez scores with a shot to the side of Rios's head.
Perez lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.

Perez wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Rios has him pressed against the cage.

Perez pushes Rios back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Perez gets through Rios's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Perez tries to break the clinch but Rios is controlling the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Rios takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Perez doesn't manage to clinch there - Rios circles away.
Perez defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Rios.
Rios dives in and grabs Perez's left leg, looking for a takedown. Perez pushes down on Rios's head and hops out.
Rios shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Perez sprawls well. Perez wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Rios gets slowly back to his feet.

Perez lands a big right hand that drops Rios! The killer instinct kicks in and Perez finishes his opponent with a series of strikes from mount. A dominating finish by Perez!
