PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Juan Carlos Alvez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chuckie Robbert (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Chuckie Robbert was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Juan Carlos Alvez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Chuckie Robbert!
The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Luis Engracia and Leandro Rodrigues.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Robbert looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Alvez!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Alvez wants to control but Robbert is having none of it.

Robbert looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.

Robbert cracks Alvez with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Robbert is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Alvez is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Alvez has escaped and now he's on top!

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Alvez is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Robbert shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Alvez pinned against the cage. Alvez gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Alvez closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Alvez lands in his opponent's guard.
