Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Areo Hotah (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Serega Ukolov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Areo Hotah!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Serega Ukolov!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Jack Bonds and .




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Ukolov.

Ukolov drives through with a takedown into Hotah's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Hotah trying to keep a closed guard but Ukolov is proving a slippery customer.
Ukolov postures up and lands a big shot to Hotah's brow.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Ukolov's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Ukolov sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Ukolov loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Ukolov not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Hotah is on top in guard.

Ukolov working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Hotah doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Hotah manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Ukolov has his foot on Hotah's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Hotah works his way back into a safe position though.

Ukolov looking for a guillotine here but Hotah defends easily.
Ukolov thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.

Ukolov is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Hotah has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Ukolov is proving hard to escape from.

Ukolov is looking for a triangle but Hotah pushes his legs off easily.
Ukolov is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Ukolov is trying to control the action in half guard but Hotah is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Ukolov looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Hotah trying to control from the bottom.
Ukolov looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Hotah with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Hotah is trying to control but can't.
Ukolov is looking to take a break and control but Hotah is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Hotah is trying to maintain the position but Ukolov is very close to passing his half guard.

Ukolov is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hotah wants to control but Ukolov is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Hotah is looking to improve his position.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Ukolov slips a nice elbow through Hotah's hands, connecting with Hotah's forehead.
Ukolov lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.

Ukolov is working for a submission of some sort.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Hotah is defending against the submission attempts here by Ukolov.
Hotah gets back to full guard.
Ukolov stops Hotah from standing up.

Ukolov drops back looking for a leg! Hotah is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Hotah manages to kick Ukolov off! Ukolov jumps back into Hotah's guard.
Hotah wants to stand and escape but Ukolov is having none of it.
Hotah preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Ukolov must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Ukolov keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Hotah's head.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Ukolov throws a big right hand that misses.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Ukolov accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Hotah is on top in guard.

Ukolov is looking for a triangle but Hotah pushes his legs off easily.
Hotah wants to stand but Ukolov is controlling his posture from full guard.
Ukolov throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.

Ukolov is looking for a triangle but Hotah pushes his legs off easily.
Ukolov looks winded!
Hotah is looking to stand up but Ukolov won't let him.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Ukolov striking off his back.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Ukolov throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Hotah would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Serega Ukolov dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Hotah keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Hotah clobbers Ukolov with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.


It looks like Serega Ukolov has been cut.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Ukolov takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Ukolov fails with a takedown attempt.

Nice combo by Hotah! Oh, that's hurt him - Ukolov falls to the canvas and Hotah follows him into side control.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Hotah thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Ukolov can do anything to dispel that myth.

Hotah has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Hotah gets caught flat footed, as Ukolov shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Hotah is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Ukolov trying to control the position from guard on top but Hotah is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Hotah pushes Ukolov off and gets back to his feet.
Ukolov is breathing heavily.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Hotah drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Hotah wants to stand but Ukolov is controlling his arm.
Ukolov tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Hotah wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Ukolov is not content to let Hotah control the position.
Ukolov misses with an elbow from the bottom.

Hotah decides to stand up, so the ref orders Ukolov to his feet.

Hotah clinches up with Ukolov and pushes him back against the cage.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Hotah gets a trip takedown into half guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Ukolov tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.

Ukolov looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.

Hotah stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Ukolov to get to his feet.
Ukolov shoots in and drives through. Hotah sprawls well.
Areo Hotah has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Serega Ukolov.
Jab, jab by Hotah - just one landing.
Hotah cracks Ukolov with a hook to the temple - Ukolov is on wobbly legs here! Hotah swarms him with hook after hook, landing with each one! Ukolov falls to the canvas face first and the referee dives in to stop the fight! Hotah wins by TKO!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:40 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Areo Hotah!
