Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mike Child (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and King Mufasa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, King Mufasa!
The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Bruno Hogan and Hugh Johnson.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mufasa tries to close the distance and clinch but Child swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Child darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Child prevents Mufasa from improving his position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Child thows a huge punch but Mufasa dodges it nicely.
Mufasa is looking to improve his position.
Child tries to stand and escape but Mufasa is controlling the position.

Mufasa looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Mufasa is trying to get back to full guard.
Mufasa is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Mufasa wants to clinch up but Child keeps it at a distance.

Mufasa shoots and misses

and Child decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Mufasa's guard.

Child gets to his feet - Mufasa follows without any prompting.

Child scores a takedown into full mount!
Mufasa tries to reverse the position but Child maintains control.
Mufasa looks gassed!
Mufasa is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Child fails to advance to Mufasa's back.

Child is working for a guillotine from mount but Mufasa frees his head quite easily.
Mufasa tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Mufasa is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Mufasa sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Child is looking for a kimura but Mufasa is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Child to get the leverage.

Mufasa tries to kick Child off but Child keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Child wants to lay and pray for a moment but Mufasa keeps working.

Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Mufasa is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Mufasa gets back to full guard.
Mufasa looking for a sweep. Not yet Mufasa, not yet.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Child misses with a takedown

and Mufasa counters with a takedown into side control.
Child might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Mufasa thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Child is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

Child has hold of a guillotine but he's not going to be able to crank on it really with only half guard, so it's no trouble for Mufasa. Oh but Child has got full guard now! Oh boy! This one could be over very soon! Mufasa goes limp - he's gone! Child jumps up and celebrates with the crowd - fantastic submission finish!
