Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between John Maynard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dan Kim (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maynard leaves Kim with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Maynard scores with a hook.
Maynard cracks Kim with an open hand slap.
Kim on the wrong end of a nice jab.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Maynard cracks Kim with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Maynard has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Kim to stand back up!

Kim is rocked!

It looks like Dan Kim has been cut.
Maynard lands hard precision jab right on the jaw that stiffens Kim up and sends him tumbling to the mat! The ref grabs Maynard from behind before he can pounce. Some folks in the crowd didn't like that stoppage, but I saw Kim's eyes roll way back in his head, he was done.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:39 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). John Maynard!
