Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jack Rafael (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Aslambek Saidov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Saidov has chosen Ashim - Kavkaz as his entrance music. Both fighter's entrance songs getting the crowd jumping here.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jack Rafael!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Aslambek Saidov!
The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Steve Erwin and Bruno Hogan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Rafael gets caught napping as Saidov dives in and scores a takedown. Rafael manages to retain guard.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Rafael shoots in looking for a takedown but Saidov manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Rafael's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Saidov darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Saidov really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Rafael. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Saidov takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Aslambek Saidov hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Saidov shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Rafael manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Saidov can do anything to dispel that myth.

Rafael drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Rafael jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Aslambek Saidov is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Let's hope that Saidov has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
