Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between James Spoon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marcus Beck (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for James Spoon has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, James Spoon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 1, fighting out of London, Marcus Beck!
The judges for this bout are William Gold, James Glass and James Ackerman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Spoon misses with a takedown attempt

and Beck counters with a shoot takedown. Spoon fights it but they end up in guard.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Beck pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Spoon is keeping the position for now.
Beck throws a big right hand that misses.

Spoon is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Beck content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.

Beck takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Beck landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Beck is keen to just control but Spoon is a slippery customer.

Beck is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Spoon has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Spoon!
Spoon tries to free his leg and advance position but Beck is retaining full guard.
Beck has Spoon pulled in close to control his posture.
Let's hope that Beck has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of James Spoon.

Spoon working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Beck's head.

Marcus Beck showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! And we move into the final round!

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Nice sprawl there from Beck as Spoon shoots in.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Beck.

Beck shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Beck got a little sloppy there for a moment and Spoon has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Beck has managed to get both his arms back between Spoon's legs - danger averted.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Beck's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Beck passes easily into side control. Nice work.

Beck lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Spoon down.
Spoon on the wrong end of some ground and pound.
Beck remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
