Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jacob White!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Thiago Silva!
The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Emerson Jorge and Matheus Silva.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva tries to clinch but White is having none of it.
Silva takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
The fighters circle momentarily. White darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

White fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Silva, pushing him back against the cage.

Silva manages to pull guard.
White would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

White gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Silva blocks a jab.

Silva tries to keep at a distance but White has taken the fight into the clinch.
White wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Silva lands a nice elbow from the clinch.

White has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Silva clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
White is riding his opponent, not letting Silva buck him off.
Silva trying to get back to his feet but White is in full control for now.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Silva looks gassed!
White really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Silva.
White seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Silva for as long as he can get away with.
White has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Jacob White just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.

White has managed to clinch.
Silva with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

White manages to break the clinch.
Thiago Silva seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Silva walks into a left hand.
White ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
White looks to land a left hand but Silva moved out of range nicely.
Silva closes the distance looking to clinch
and White counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
White cracks Silva with a right hand to the side of the head.


Silva is rocked!
White cracks Silva on the jaw with a powerful right hand and Silva falls backwards against the cage. White follows up with more strikes that drop Silva to his knees. White keeps the pressure on and the referee jumps in to save Silva! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:28 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jacob White!
