Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Wes Miles (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Charles Darwin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Miles kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Kings of Leon - Closer. Wes Miles has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Darwin looks to land a left hand but Miles moved out of range nicely.
Darwin misses with a straight left.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.

Miles throws a lazy right hand but Darwin sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Oooh a lovely combination from Darwin sends Miles down but not out. Darwin dives into side control looking to finish.

It looks like Wes Miles has been cut.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Miles is in a bad spot here and he knows it... just holding on for now.
Miles tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Darwin wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Darwin swings around for an armbar but Miles sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Darwin's guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Darwin ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Miles moves away.
Miles pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Darwin lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Miles circles away quickly and effectively.

Darwin shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Miles as he avoids it easily.

Darwin throws a series of punches but Miles avoids them all with ease.
Darwin keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.

Miles with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Darwin to score with a decent uppercut.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Miles.

Wes Miles is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

That was a close second round but I would say that Wes Miles will probably get the nod.

Darwin tests Miles's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Darwin stalks Miles and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Miles's face. Miles staggers backwards, shaken.
Miles is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Darwin.

Darwin walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Miles checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.

Miles loads up on a big right hand but Darwin slips the punch.
Darwin fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Miles manages to avoid it.
Darwin throws a lazy right hand but Miles sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Miles takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Charles Darwin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Wes Miles.
