PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Frank Wolfen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lee Machin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

With a record of 19 - 12 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Lee Machin!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Machin feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Wolfen's calf.
Wolfen throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Machin changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Wolfen tries to avoid it but Machin manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Wolfen to the ground. Wolfen escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Frank Wolfen has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Lee Machin.

Machin escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Wolfen gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Machin has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Wolfen can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Machin has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Wolfen is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Machin.
