The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Roosmalen.
A nice inside leg kick there by Roosmalen. That's going to slow Darnell down.
Roosmalen throws a nice head kick!
Darnell takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Roosmalen pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Roosmalen tries to close the distance and clinch up against the ropes but Darnell paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Roosmalen throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Roosmalen misses with a body kick.
Darnell looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
A clash of legs there as Darnell blocks the low kick.

Darnell avoids a punch combination nicely.
Stefan Roosmalen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That kick from Roosmalen tenderised Darnell's leg. Darnell is trying to keep his angry face on.
Roosmalen lands a jab to the head.
Roosmalen throws a body punch but Darnell moves out of range.
Darnell uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Roosmalen.
Darnell on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Roosmalen throws a lazy head kick

and Darnell counters with a takedown into side control.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Roosmalen is holding Darnell down, trying to stall.

Darnell throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.

Roosmalen works his way to full guard. Good work.

Roosmalen manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Roosmalen wants to control the pace but Darnell is squirming around nicely.
Roosmalen postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Darnell looks a forlorn figure.

Roosmalen postures up and lands a whopping elbow - oh that's hurt Darnell bigstyle! Two more strikes land for Roosmalen and the fight is over!
