Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Harvi Kalaso (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Silver Back (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kalaso comes to the ring accompanied by Hank Williams SR. . This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 32 - 25 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Harvi Kalaso!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 4 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, Silver Back!
The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Fedor Mirinova and Konstantin Menshow.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kalaso fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Back, pushing him back against the ropes.
Back wants to break free but Kalaso has control.

Back is fighting off a takedown attempt but Kalaso is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Back to the mat. Back regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
Kalaso trying to control but Back is working from the bottom.
Kalaso wants to pass the guard but Back is keeping the position.
Back is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Back wants to sweep here but Kalaso controlling him for the moment.

Back escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Kalaso gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Back working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Kalaso doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Kalaso manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

That was a close round but I would say that Harvi Kalaso will probably get the nod.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

This has been an exciting period of action!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Silver Back showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

That was a close round but Harvi Kalaso did the better work so I'd imagine he'll take it.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Back pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Kalaso rolls with it to try and escape but Back cranks on the arm and Kalaso is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
